About the Local Author and Self-Publisher: Chet "Da Mutt" Beates   Chet is a Master Engraver; a Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) and Bench Jeweler; had his own successful business throwing elegant home parties for fine custom jewelry. Chet also Graduated from the University of the State of New York with an Associate of Science (AS) Degree and the Honolulu Campus of the University of Phoenix, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management (BSB/M.) In addition, he is a Sea Power Ambassador for the United States Navy League ("Haze Gray and Underway, Yo Ho!") and an Ordained Minister in the Universal Life Church with an Honorary Masters of Religion degree and a Doctorate of Divinity. Reverend Chet calls his Ministry "Warriors of the Spiritual Faith" in honor of his patron, St Michael the Archangel. Chet and his lovely, witty wife Keiko have built a beautiful (1 to 12 scale – 1": 1’) lighted and fully furnished Antique "Queen Anne" Victorian dollhouse and a 19th century "Gothic", the "Tennyson." The current project is an eight room; three story "Bellingham Farmhouse" dollhouse that is destined to become an Oriental Executive Businessman’s Retreat with koi pond and a fenced garden with a wrought iron gazebo and swing from "scratch." This fascinating couple recently had Titles of Nobility (Baron Chezlov and Baroness Keiko vonBätis) restored to them by the London Royal Ministry dating back to a Great (x6)-Grand Sire from Prussia prior to 1732 in Colonial Philadelphia. Baron and Baroness vonBätis were appointed as Special Ambassadors to the Court of HRH Fernidad, Hereditary King of Prussia. Chet comes from a career military Senior Officer "old school" Food Service background and has recently self-published his biography, "Son of a Gun – The Life and Times of a Lifer Brat" on-line at Lulu.com which contains a fascinating tale of a military dependent who becomes a "Navy Lifer" by MACS(SW) Beates, USN, Retired Master-At-Arms Senior Chief Petty Officer (Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist) Beates retired in September 1992 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii after 25 consecutive years of US Navy Active Duty from Vietnam to Desert Storm.
