No, I did not learn to read at age four.  I had better things to do such as fall out of trees and fall off my trike.  I did learn to read eventually and discovered books and hid away in corners to read undisturbed while my mother shouted, "All of you children should be outside, it's a lovely day!" even when it was pouring.  Then I reached high school and discovered boys.  Found a nice one, married him, raised a darling daughter.  My favorite reading is fantasy but I like best the ones that happen now.  So that is what I write.  (Escaping reality?  Probably)  Also, I wrote articles for astrology magazines for many years.  So when I started the Mudflat series, my heroine is a modern woman who works regular jobs in Seattle but also studies astrology because her magic background in magic Mudflat, a Seattle neighborhood, requires her to do so.  And then like that isn't enough conflict, she meets a guy from another world. The success of the Mudflat series carried me into a couple of new urban fantasy series and the first books are now available. VAMPIRE CAREER, Turning Vampire series, is available in ebook and paperback. DEMONSPELL, Sunspinner series, is available in ebook only at this time.
