Background
Information
Born in Clinton, Massachusetts, graduated from the University of South Carolina, majored in Education, and presently resides in La Jolla, California, Pauline Hager is now a publish
ed author. Her major influences were the books she read in her youth. The Bigelow Public Library in Clinton was adjacent to her elementary school. Every day after school she visited the library. Reading books from a very early age, going to the movies three times a week in her small home town, and listening to adventure and mystery stories on the radio fed her imagination. "The seed to write was planted in my mind," and years later when Pauline and her husband moved to Japan and later returned to San Diego, the seed burst and a book was born. Memoirs of an American Housewife in Japan recounts their exciting experiences living in Japan and traveling to other exotic countries in the Far East. Her next book Giorgi's Greek Tragedy is a historical novel. Set in the craggy Taygetos Mountains in the Peloponnese peninsula of Southern Greece, the story recounts the tale of young Giorgi's quest for revenge when his parents are murdered by elite agents of the Sultan's Ottoman Turkish Empire during the Greek War of Independence, 1821-1829.
Additional books include four eBooks, a total of 21 countries visited. The four books are
Panama Canal, Russia, and the Danube River: Armchair Travel Series; England and China: Armchair Travel Series; Chama, Durango, Grand Canyon, and Kansas City: Armchair Travel Series; and Japan and Thailand: Armchair Travel Series.
Pauline tells of each country and her exciting experiences, visited with her husband through the years. Includes many pictures taken by Pauline.
