I am the first of many siblings, and as such, I'd lost my voice as a child. In those formative years it was one of my teachers in grade school that discovered I had the gift of writing.  She encouraged me in doing so through the writing of poetry. I was about twelve years old at the time. Quickly, not only had writing became a medium for self expression, it became a way of escape, release, and most of all it empowered me by becoming a tool. One that is shared by others  that when used correctly, will serve a greater good. In 2003, I had a life altering experience that lead me to writing "Into the Twilight of Her Dawn." Interestingly, it all begun with a poem I had wrote to 'God' late one night. At that point, I was coming back from the brink of an emotional blackhole; this lead me into pursuing my first love, writing.  It seemed only natural tapping into what brought me the most joy. Self expression through writing has always been it, and "Into the Twilight of Her Dawn" became a voice chronicling one of life's near misses. "into The twilight of Her Dawn" resonates with both men and women. The common tread found in the human experience is shared in our commonality and the ability for us to recognize such.  Stories we excahnge or told is not simply our's, but rather they are stories of many.  It's with this in mind I endeavor writing from a place that is honest and goes straight to the heart. I believe it should be less about formality and more about substance, and this comes from writing from life's experiences. It's kind of hard getting it wrong when it's our yesterday thats being reflected. However, it's how we repeat what has already been recorded by time that truly makes the difference.
