These books pretty much detail my life as an orphan in the foster care system as a ward of the state from 6-19 years old. My mother was a paranoid schizophrenic and I didn't meet my biological father until I was about 18 years old. "Panning For Gold" details how I felt within that 13 year time frame bouncing between, 7-9 different foster homes, shelters, and group homes. This is a story about being labeled, stereotyped, misjudged, and misguided as I persevered and kept my faith in the most "high" up above! "Assault with a Verbal Weapon," is the follow-up memoir about my life as a freshly emancipated and young adult out of the system. This book deals with the issues that many of our young people are facing today and how a lack of tact and educational and fundamental communication is destroying so many different lives on a daily basis, somewhere, somehow. If you like to laugh, cry, joke, speak out, or you have a curious inclination as to how things have and will turn out if you are in or have been at a place you have no buisness being in your life, then this book is most definately for you!
