I was brought up on a small Northern Irish farm. I remember as a child adding 'bluestone' to water for spraying on potato plants, to prevent blight. Blight, my famine novel with an historical dimension and contemporary significance. Famine still happens.  If there is enough food to go around everyone on this planet, why does it not 'go around?'
