Jaime Correa is a town designer and a professor of architecture and urbanism. The School of Architecture of the University of Miami bestowed upon him the distinguished title of Knight Professor in Community Building for almost a decade. Jaime Correa and Associates, his award winning firm in Miami, advocates traditional principles of town design and community building as well as transitional strategies for self-sufficiency, simple living, geographic distinctiveness, alternative energy, and the relocalization of human resources. He is the editor of THE CORREA REPORT and a current contributor to numerous journals, newspapers and magazines. He holds graduates degrees in Architecture, City Planning, Urban Design and Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He lectures widely at symposiums, conferences and universities on issues of self-sufficiency, new urbanism, peak oil and climate change, form-based codes, morphology, suburban retrofit, urban culture, informal urbanism and town/city design.
