The motivator for writing this novel is the overall existence of historically black colleges & universities (HBCUs)! Being a product of Central State University in Wilberforce OH, I love the legacy these schools were founded upon. The fact that HBCU 's came into being during times of great struggle for African American in this country makes them more then simply institutions of higher learning!
