An early choice in life after high school was Engineering, an act of rebellion, as his father was a physician. He realized a need for more contact with people and completed medical school. Unergraduate interest was in all forms of physics including Quantum Mechanics and even courses in reactor physics. Eventually after a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology he practiced for many years delivering babies.
