Raised in New York’s South Bronx, Barry found alternatives to the “street life” in his love for aircraft and music.
At thirteen Barry joined the Civil Air Patrol where he began his studies of leadership. He soon became Squadron Commander of the Civil Air Patrol’s Bronx Cadet Squadron One.
