My books, except for a special one (Letters Home) , have all been written to help people. My first book, Raising a Handicapped Child, was written because I needed a book for the parents of the children I was caring for as director of a Center for children with disabilities. It has been in publication since 1986 in five different editions. The last edition was published by Oxford University Press in 1999.
