I am a retired policeman and have been a private detective for 15 years. I started writing in 1987 while I was still a policeman. I researched and co-wrote a nonfiction book about a lynching that took place in Pekin, Illinois in 1869 when it was still the edge of America's frontier. After that I wrote a fictional version of the same incident and went on to write another fiction called Greenhorns and Killer Mountains as well as five screenplays.
