I grew up on Sherwood Anderson and Hemingway and Faulkner and James Agee. Mostly self-educated though I've spent hours upon hours in workshops everywhere.

I've read all of Anderson and Agee and Flaubert and Hemingway- edging into finishing Faulkner- may finish Tolstoy in a couple of years- will never finish Joyce and have actually read a couple of Henry James even though I swore I never would. Have yet to read Dickens. Think I've read all of Stevenson's non-fiction writing by now.
