I have a PhD in comparative literature and have taught in colleges for many years. My main influences have been authors of speculative fiction such as C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, and Marion Zimmer Bradley, Herman Melville and Vladimir Nabokov, whose command of language and style is great enough to make any author weep with envy, are my two favorite writers.
