Valerie Temple was born in Colorado and began sculping mud-clay figures at an early age. Like the Mud Witch Boy, she enjoys telling stories from the earth she digs and shapes.Temple has done special studies in clay building at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Ventura College. She employs native firing techniques in her clay work firing the pieces with cow dung and sometimes buffalo dung. She lives in Ventura, California.
