I was born in Glasgow, Scotland and had my early education somewhat interrupted by evacuation during World War II. After taking a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics at St Andrews University I worked for some time as a Chemical Engineer, and had some adventures in France, before becoming a teacher. My wife Lyn, son David, and I relocated to Canada in 1967 where my second son, Iain, was born.
