Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dale wrote his first story at the age of eight years. It was a western... it had to be a western, because at eight years old, the only things he cared about were cowboys, horses, and guns. His first story was never published.After graduating highschool he worked and traveled with a rock and roll band, up the east coast and into Canada. They worked in nightclubs, and lived in hotels out of suitcases for two years.
