Yvonna McCoy was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor's of Business Administration and went on to work for over three years in marketing and communications for a financial services company. It was at her first post-college job that her passion for writing was reignited and started penning her debut novel, Wild Oats.

She currently resides in Tampa, FL with her family.
