My influences fall somewhere between Raymond Chandler and Henry Miller -- the former for his wonderful sense of character and place, and the latter for his understanding that the realm of sexuality can be as revealing of character as any other part of the human experience.  And I'm also just trying to have some fun and share it with my readers.
