I have been writing since the age of eight. It was when I entered a writing contest sponsored by Ebony/JET magazine and they sent me a letter addressing me as 'writer', that I knew I wanted to become a professional writer. In both high school and college I recieved words of encouragement from my teachers and professors saying that I should definitely seek a career as a writer.
