I grew up in the Cotswolds and only joined the army because they were offering free holidays. Little did I know war was just about to be declared. My book tells all about that but also my time after the war when I owned a chain of shops in London.

I originally wrote the book as something to hand down to my family, but have now found that people I don't even know are just as interested.
