When I was twelve, I received a five-year diary for my birthday.  I remember thinking that I would never live to be seventeen ( the five years required to fill that diary).  I did of course, and filled it so completely, that I had to use a journal to accomodate all my writings.  That was the beginning and I have been writing ever since -- in journals, short stories, novels, essays and now blogs.
