Philip David Hogan was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, where he has lived most of his life. As a boy, he simultaneously discovered the books of Stephen King and the films of Steven Spielberg and quickly began a love affair with epic, emotional storytelling. In the late 90's he attended film school in Ontario before embarking on a career as an independent filmmaker and screenwriter.
