As a child, my imagination was encouraged. My mother was a brilliant woman who told me stories from her childhood, and she let me play pretend for hours. It is from her that I learned to dream big. My father, after he retired from the Army, always had his nose stuck in a book. Being a daddy’s girl, I always wanted his attention and I decided at a young age the best way to get it was to write a book.
