Major influences are Oscar Wilde, P.G. Wodehouse and the early New Yorker writers like E.B. White, Robert Benchley, Dorothy Parker, James Thurber and Ring Lardner.

I studied for 5 years at Chicago's famed Second City Improv Theatre under Del Close and Paul Sills. I also had my own improvisational comedy group that played in clubs around the city.
