After my husband was diagnosed with cancer in 1988 I began writing out of self defense. I had to have something to pass the time in the hospitals etc., so I wrote.

In 1991 I met Linda George who asked if I wanted to join a writers group. Of course I did. There I met my best friend, Joanne Horn. She was the best friend of my best friend's mother when I was in high school. She has supported my writing ever since. Through her I met other writers who have really helped and influenced my writing.
