Born and raised in the Deep South, I grew up during the era of the Civil Rights Movement, integration, and Vietnam. I received a BS degree in biology and English in Texas, and later moved to Atlanta to work and pursue post graduate work at Georgia Tech. After working in the scientific field for twenty years, I turned my talents to writing fiction and nonfiction.
