In High School I discovered "recreational" reading, as opposed to just reading the books teachers assigned -- and in the process I found Mark Twain.
More recently I have found Poul Anderson's fabulous science fiction and fantasy books, and had the pleasure of working with Stephen J. Cannell on the TV series Renegade. Stephen offered encouraging words, and advice to me throughout the season.
