In my literary novel, I am heavily influenced by poetry. My first novel, 3 Through History: Love in the Time of Republicans,, is a sequence of sixty tableaux over twenty years. I also think about Markus Zusak, Don DiLillo, and Art Spiegelman when I write.
This poetic/portaiture style influences the Ezra the Dream Traveller series, even though when I write for the middle grades, I'm sensitive to the need for a dynamic plot. more...
