Jennifer Perez's focus revolves around upmarket literary fiction. While living in Tijuana she published several short stories, poetry, flash fiction and essays until her common law husband became the focus of the Arellano-Felix Drug Cartel or CAF.
The couple was forced to flee Mexico and request asylum for him in the U.S. After his deportation, Ms. Perez followed him to El Salvador to help facilitate his move to a safer location.
