My father George Wright-Mensah was the major influence in my life since he instilled reading in me at a very young age. As an African from the West African Country of Ghana, British colonialism as well as slavery and its confluence in America, as well as the major tribes that fought the colonial masters made a mark on me. Combining these historical facts and lining it with fiction made for a good storyline.
