Between the continent and Main Island of Japan, Kyushu has a unique history. Hana's parents were born during the time of militarism. Human rights, democracy, equality, freedom, the rule of law(not the rule of some human)---they were once brought from Europe in late 19th century into Japan, but they were for very limited people in Main Island.
