There is no single major influence, although I first read Margret Atwood's A Handmaiden's Tale when I was thirteen and it still remains one of the strongest pieces of literature (in terms of unforgetable characters, plot, and voice) that I have ever read. 

My background is in Human Resources, but I've been writing creative fiction as a second job for over twenty years.
