I have wanted to be a writer almost as long as I have been able to read. My major influences include authors such as Hugh Lofting, P.L. Travers, Rudyard Kipling, and Mark Twain. My own favorite genres are mixed. I love Stephen King and Terry Pratchett equally well and read almost all genres other than sports, and even then a good Dick Francis novel can cause me to make an exception.
