A retired professor of English, I taught at CUNY for most of my adult life. My publications, until recently, have been largely academic, including some two dozen articles and a book, Portrait of an American City: The Novelists' New York. It was my experience as a caregiver to my husband for twelve years and my subsequent widowhood that led me to try my hand at a novel, Griefwriting.
