Jan Harvey's most early influences were CS Lewis, Daphne du Maurier and The Brontės. Latterly, she has become a fan of Kate Morton and Patrick Gale. Her favourite contemporary novel is 'The History of Love' by Nicole Krauss.
Jan studied film history at university and much of her inspiration comes from old Hollywood movies and the greats of the golden era but particularly, Cary Grant!
