Ivan Vlasov was born in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Two years after graduating from a University in his home town, he moved to Saint-Petersburg, Russia to work as a software engineer, and that's where he met his future wife. In the spring of 2010, Ivan and his family, that now also included his 4-month-old son, relocated to St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, where Ivan worked on a temporary basis. However, already in early 2012, being lured by a big company, Ivan moved again, this time to Montreal.
