Linda Scott DeRosier was born in the upper room of her grandmother's log house at Boons Camp, Kentucky and spent the first twenty years of her life in Eastern Kentucky. She received her BS degree from Pikeville College at age twenty and went on to complete a cross-disciplinary doctorate (Ph.D.) in philosophy, education, and psychology at the University of Kentucky.
