Wanda S. Miller-Berry, a resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born in Boley, Oklahoma, a historically affluent African-Ameican Township situated between Okemah and Paden Oklahoma, in Okfuskee County, in Central Oklahoma.  Established in 1904, Boley became a place of refuge to blacks that migrated from the south to the hope-filled dreams, aspirations and promises of a better life in northern and western places of refuge after the eradication of slavery.  She attended first grade within the historically explicit atmosphere of the All-Black Township.
