I taught mechanical engineering for 31 years at NC A&T State University before retiring to Lake Lure. The natural beauty of the Hickory Nut Gorge/Lake Lure area in western North Carolina has inspired me to write a series of children's books, The Lake Lure Chronicles, that are based on the area .
