I wrote "Max, The Shelter Dog" as a way to give back to a breed that has taught me compassion, strength of will and determination.
I met Max on my first day of volunteering at my local animal shelter. He, and all the dogs at the shelter, touched my heart. I asked, "How can I do more." And the answer manifested as "Max, The Shelter Dog."
It is my hope that through this book children and adults will volunteer at their local animal shelter, adopt a pet and get to know the true nature of the American Pit Bull Terrier and all bully breeds.
