I was first inspired to write by all of the great children's authors I devoured as a kid--Alcott, Lewis, Alexander, and L'Engle all led me down the paths of creativity. When I got to high school, a fabulous English teacher believed in me and encouraged me to write more. Everything that I am I owe to the late Kitty Savage.
