David E. Greske was born in Red Wing, Minnesota and raised in rural Wisconsin. When he wasn’t milking the cows or feeding the chicken, he spent his youth writing short stories and watching the creature features on Saturday afternoons. His earliest writing endeavor was a "rip-off' of the supernatural soap opera, Dark Shadows. In high school he was a member of the Writer’s Club that put out a yearly publication of student works.
