Judith E. Vido lives in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in the rural outskirts of the city. Diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age eight she became blind from its side effects before her twentieth birthday. After extensive rehabilitation training and the acquisition of a Seeing Eye Dog she attained a bachelors degree in Psychology and a graduate degree in clinical social work from the Virginia Commonwealth University.
