Granger studied at the College of Wooster and University of Massachusetts in Amherst, earning a BA in English at the latter. After a number of years of subsistence farming and building log cabins in the Adirondack Mountains, she obtained a Master of Science in Teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh. Somehow all that background and more has found its way into her writing.
