I came into the writing world via a very special path. After the diagnoses of bone cancer in my chocolate lab, I realized my own mortality. I took three months to explore deep into myself to see if I could find my purpose. It led me to writing about animals. I wrote for our local paper for 2 years with a column called, "For the Love of Animals." In 2006 my dachshund became paralyzed.
