Since picking up my first romance novel some fifteen years ago, I’ve known my calling. In my teens, I wrote of love, and all the struggles and heartaches in trying to achieve the perfect happiness. But aside from the love, I enjoyed putting my characters through trials and tribulations, setting them in scary places or having them struggle with difficulties. I didn’t write mushy romance, and so I thought there was no place for someone with my style of writing. Then I picked up a Nora Roberts novel and I found my voice.
