Realizing that children grieve differently, Sargent began searching for resources written to and for young children. Finding the search difficult, she was led to develop "healing" books that encourage children to write poems and letters or draw pictures onto each page. Her first book, "When My Daddy Died," was published in 2007. Her second book, "When My Mommy Died," was published in 2012.
