About the Author, Frank A. Herda Author Frank A. Herda, an avid reader of Science Fiction/Fantasy, became enthralled by the genre at a very early age. He retired from the Department of Defense after thirty-three years of service as an employee of the Federal Government. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Viet Nam as a combat infantryman. His medals for valor include the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Start, Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart.
