Born in Berlin Germany in 1942. In 1945 our apartment was demolished by bombs and we moved to live with my grandmother who lived near Potsdam. That part of Germany turned out to be the communist sector.
In 1952 we escaped East Germany and headed for West Berlin. We lived in various refugee camps. After the quota system took its course in 1956, we finally were on top of the list and headed for America where the streets are paved with gold. (Allegedly.)
